Ludo Quick Game Rules

1. Objective: The main goal is to be the first player to successfully move all four of your colored tokens from your starting base, around the entire game board, and into your designated home column and central home triangle.

2. Players and Tokens:

• Ludo is typically played by 2 to 4 players. Each player chooses one of the four colors (e.g., Red, Blue, Green, Yellow) and receives four matching tokens.
• All four of your tokens begin in your colored "home base" or "yard" area.

3. Starting the Game (Getting Tokens Out):

• Players take turns rolling a single six-sided die.
• To move a token out of your home base onto the starting square of the main track, you must roll a '6'.
• Rolling a '6' also grants you an additional turn.
• If you don't have any tokens on the main track and don't roll a '6', your turn passes to the next player.

4. Movement:

• Once a token is on the main track, you move it clockwise around the board according to the number rolled on the die.
• If you have multiple tokens in play, you can choose which token to move.
• If a move cannot be made (e.g., blocked by your own tokens, or no valid move for the number rolled), your turn is forfeited.

5. Capturing Opponents (Cutting):

• If your token lands on a square that is already occupied by an opponent's token, the opponent's token is "captured" or "cut."
• The captured token is immediately sent back to the opponent's starting home base and must roll a '6' again to re-enter the game.
• Some Ludo variants also grant an extra turn to the player who performs a capture.

6. Safe Zones:

• Certain squares on the board are designated as "safe zones" (often marked by stars or specific colors).
• Tokens resting on a safe zone cannot be captured by an opponent.
• A player's own starting square is also a safe zone.
• If two tokens of the same color occupy the same square, they form a "blockade" or "double," which prevents any opponent's token from passing or landing on that square.

7. Reaching the Home Column and Triangle:

• Once a token completes a full circuit around the main board, it must enter its designated "home column" (a series of colored squares leading to the center of the board).
• Tokens can only be moved into the central "home triangle" (the final destination) by rolling the exact number required. If the roll is too high, the token cannot move into the home triangle on that turn.

8. Winning the Game:

• The first player to successfully move all four of their tokens into their corresponding home triangle is declared the winner.
• Play may continue for second and third places if desired.
